At Innovative Eye Care, we are proud to be at the forefront of ophthalmic research in Australia.
Through our dedicated clinical trials team and facilities, we contribute to the development of new treatments, devices and diagnostics that improve outcomes for people with eye disease.
Our team of optometrists collaborates with national and international sponsors to deliver accurate, ethical and efficient clinical research; from early-phase studies through to large-scale trials.

We provide a comprehensive suite of ophthalmic testing and diagnostic services for clinical trials. We work closely with contract research organisations, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers to ensure all trial requirements are met with precision and compliance.
Our services include feasibility assessments, participant recruitment, imaging, data collection and ongoing trial management.

Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support both anterior and posterior segment research.
We offer high-resolution imaging including OCT, OCT angiography, wide-field retinal photography and fundus autofluorescence to assess retinal structure and vascular health with precision.
For anterior eye studies, we provide slit lamp biomicroscopy, corneal topography and tomography, and anterior segment OCT, ideal for evaluating corneal clarity, surface health and anterior chamber depth.
We also support dry eye and ocular surface research with tear film analysis and vital dye staining (fluorescein and lissamine green). For more advanced studies, we offer epithelial mapping, specular microscopy and corneo-scleral profilometry.
Our visual field testing suite accommodates a wide range of perimetric assessments, supporting studies in glaucoma, retinal and neurological conditions.

Our clinical trials team is made up of experienced, therapeutically endorsed optometrists who are trained and certified in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Led by Clinical Director Lachlan Hoy and supported by a passionate team of optometrists including Pooja Bhindi, Millie Meegan, Daniel Moriarty, Wes Butler, Rui Lin and Dylan Bentley, our group brings both clinical and academic expertise to every study we undertake.

When you partner with Innovative Eye Care for clinical trials, you gain access to a streamlined and responsive process from initial consultation through to final reporting.
We begin with feasibility reviews and protocol consultation to ensure the study aligns with our capabilities. Once approved, we manage all site setup requirements, assist with ethics submissions, and coordinate regulatory documentation.
Our recruitment process is tailored to the study population, using internal databases, referral networks and community outreach to identify suitable participants. Throughout the trial, our optometrists manage imaging, testing and follow-up visits, ensuring consistency in data collection and participant care.
We work closely with sponsors and CROs to ensure compliance with study timelines, data accuracy and regulatory requirements.

Located in Adelaide’s city centre, our clinic is designed with clinical research in mind. All testing is conducted on-site by our certified optometrists, reducing delays and ensuring a seamless participant experience.
Our central location also makes it easy for participants to attend multiple visits, improving retention and supporting long-term trials.

All clinical trials conducted at Innovative Eye Care adhere to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), as well as local ethical and regulatory guidelines. We prioritise patient safety, informed consent and transparency in every stage of the trial.
We also maintain rigorous data privacy protocols to protect participant information and ensure compliance with Australian privacy laws.

Whether you're a sponsor looking for a capable and experienced site, or an individual interested in participating in an ophthalmic study, we’d love to hear from you.
