Hot Compress

Posterior Blepharitis (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction) is defined as inflammation of your eyelids affecting the meibomian glands. It blocks your meibomian glands which produces the oil layer of your tear film.

Heat from the hot compresses open up the meibomian (oil) glands to improve oil flow into the eye, stabilise the tear film and slow down tear evaporation.

Instructions

Standard

  1. Heat the Bruder Mask or Eye Doctor Mask in the microwave for twenty seconds.
  2. Place mask over closed eyes for ten minutes
  3. After ten minutes take off the eye mask
  4. With clean hands and closed eyes, lightly massage eyelids for 30 seconds each eye, applying gentle pressure towards your eyelashes. This helps express the oil out.

Sheets

  1. Heat the Bruder Mask or Eye Doctor Mask in the microwave for twenty seconds.
  2. Place Hygienic Eyelid Sheets behind mask. This will enhance the moist heat treatment while keeping your compress clean.
  3. Place mask over closed eyes for ten minutes
  4. With clean hands and closed eyes, lightly massage eyelids for 30 seconds each eye, applying gentle pressure towards your eyelashes. This helps express the oil out.

If mask feels like it is burning eyelid skin, do not put over eyes
